when the world forces you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray

I was thinking about the grapefruit sorbet we had in Estivo...

The guys didn't want to eat it because it was sour and bitter. But I liked it partly because of that. The other flavours appeared to me too sweet, or rather, they only had sweetness in them. They didn't have character.

Have you ever been through a period of intense pain and suffering, then looked back and said 'That was such a wonderful experience'? Have you ever had your vision clouded by sorrowful tears, but felt that the world was now beautiful in its grey melancholy? Have you ever felt that this chapter of your life was meaningful enough to be written into a book?

I wonder if I'm perverse.

But really, we have to be grateful for our sufferings, for they help us change for the better. Humans are like lumps of clay; without molding and sculpting by sharp instruments, without the oven's fiery heat baking us, we would never become intricate Ming vases. We would remain ugly and useless, stomped on by every passing feet. It is through the Potter's hands that we can live a life of meaning and beauty.

Beautiful Lord, wonderful saviour
I know for sure, all of my days are held in Your hands
Crafted into Your perfect plan

Take me, mold me, use me, fill me
I give my life to the Potter's hand
Call me, guide me, lead me, walk beside me
I give my life to the Potter's hand

Do not blame God for your sufferings. Thank Him for them.
