This post is long due.

Remembered once jianhong's roomie and i were discussing religion, and he said he felt that Christianity was 'too easy' a religion, as compared to Islam and Judaism. Like, we weren't really forced to do anything, and we only had to believe in order to be saved. I told him it was because we believed that, being flawed sinners ourselves, we cannot be saved by human effort. We can only be saved by God.

One morning while I was thinking back, I thought that Christianity isn't really as easy as people think. You see, it's easier to do something when you're forced to do it, rather than when you have complete freedom in deciding whether you want to do it or not. We find it easier to attend classes in secondary school because we're forced to, but in university we're skipping classes left and right. It takes a lot more discipline to get oneself to class in uni, because it isn't compulsory and we can always choose to do something else that's more desirable, like sleep. Being a christian is the same. It takes a great deal out of you to haul yourself to church or read the Bible everyday, because you can always CHOOSE to do something else that's more fun. It takes more willpower and discipline to go the right way.

Thus, nobody can really say that it's 'easy'. Most christians actually put a lot of commitment and devotion into their faith. Actually, if you look at the many cases of christian persecution...

Jianhong says getting angry is good. It's like, you're starting to get a backbone, think more for yourself, and look out for things that make you happy.
